How to change name servers (DNS)
Name servers are what tell your browser what server to get the web page you're looking at from. When you get a new domain name you will probably need to change the name servers to point to your new hosting company. Here's how to do that with several different major domain registrars.
GoDaddy
- Go to GoDaddy
- Click My Account
- Locate and click the domain name you want to change the name servers for. You can search for it using the search bar above the list of domains you have registered with GoDaddy.
- Click the Nameservers menu.
- Choose I have specific name servers for my domains. and enter the two name servers that your host provided you.
