What are Playbooks?
Think of playbooks as your association's 24/7 automated assistant, tirelessly working behind the scenes. They're the engine that keeps your operation humming.
Got a new job posting? A member just registered for an event? Instead of doing the same thing over and over, you can set up a playbook to handle it automatically.
Playbooks are "if this, then that" workflows that let you focus on what matters most: your members. They'll monitor for specific events, then spring into action to send an email, update a record, or whatever else you need. All you have to do is set them up, and they'll keep the show running.
Why use Playbooks?
- Save time — When something happens (like a new job seeker signing up), the right email or update goes out automatically so you don't have to do it by hand every time.
- Stay consistent — Every person gets the same welcome or follow-up, so no one falls through the cracks.
- Scale — One playbook can handle hundreds of events so your team can focus on members and employers instead of repetitive tasks.
Here are two examples of playbooks in action:
- A job seeker signs up → they get a welcome email and, a few days later, a friendly nudge to complete their profile.
- An employer posts an internship → the job is held for review and your team gets an email so you can approve it before it goes live.
The Playbooks page has two tabs:
- Ready-made Playbooks — Pre-built playbooks you can turn on and customize (for example, change the email text or who receives it).
- Your Playbooks — Ones you build from scratch by choosing when they run, who they affect, and what they do (such as send an email or update a status).
