Reference requests let job seekers ask people they have worked with to submit a short professional statement. Approved references are then included with each application a seeker submits to an employer on your career center.

The Reference requests setting under Settings → Job Seekers toggles the entire reference feature on or off for your career center. What the setting controls

When Reference requests is on:

• Job seekers see a References section on their profile where they can invite contacts to write a reference.
• Contacts receive an email with a link to approve or decline the request.
• Approved references appear as a References tab on the applicant detail view for any employer the job seeker applies to.

When Reference requests is off:

• The References section is hidden from job seeker profiles.
• Existing references are not shared with applications.
• The References tab does not appear on the employer applicant view.

Where the setting lives

1. Sign in to your career center admin.
2. Go to Settings, then Job Seekers.
3. Find Reference requests and check or uncheck the box.
4. Save the page.
