Overview
This document explains how Single Sign-On (SSO) works between the Web Scribble job board platform and HigherLogic SSO. SSO allows you to use your HigherLogic community credentials to sign in to the job board without creating a separate account or remembering additional passwords.
What is SSO?
Single Sign-On (SSO) enables you to sign in to the Web Scribble job board using your existing HigherLogic community account. Once you’re signed in to HigherLogic, you can access the job board seamlessly without entering your credentials again.
How SSO Works
Initial Sign-In Process
- Accessing the Sign-In Page
- When you visit the job board and click “Sign In,” the system checks if SSO is enabled
- If SSO is enabled for your account type (member, seeker, or employer), you’ll be redirected to the HigherLogic SSO login page
- Authentication with HigherLogic
- You’ll be redirected to HigherLogic’s secure login page
- Enter your HigherLogic community username and password
- HigherLogic verifies your credentials
- Return to Job Board
- After successful authentication, HigherLogic redirects you back to the job board
- The job board securely retrieves your user information from HigherLogic
- Your account is automatically created or updated in the job board system
- Automatic Sign-In
- Once the process completes, you’re automatically signed in to the job board
- You’ll be redirected to your dashboard or the page you were trying to access
Account Creation and Linking
First-Time Users:
- If this is your first time using SSO, the job board automatically creates an account for you using information from your HigherLogic profile
- Your account is linked to your HigherLogic SSO ID, ensuring seamless future sign-ins
Existing Users:
If you already have a job board account, the system will:
- Link your existing account to your HigherLogic SSO ID
- Update your profile information with the latest data from HigherLogic
- Preserve your job board activity and preferences
